A Weekend in Primošten, Croatia

Oktober 24, 2025

If you drive the coastal road between Šibenik and Trogir, you’ll spot Primošten long before you reach it. It’s a tiny fish-shaped peninsula surrounded by blue on all sides. From a distance it looks almost too perfect, like it’s been staged for a postcard. But spend a weekend here and you’ll realise the beauty lies in how ordinary it feels.

Velika Raduča Beach

Just steps from the old town walls, Velika Raduča is Primošten’s main beach. It has smooth pebbles, pine shade, and sea that’s clear enough to see your toes on the bottom. In the summer, visitors set up early and spend the day. Children run along the shore and the path that crosses behind. There’s plenty of space to spread out, and from the shoreline, you’ll see the peninsula rise like a postcard in front of you.

Prgin Winery

Drive five minutes inland and you’ll find Prgin, a small family-run winery inside a renovated schoolhouse. The setting is pristine, the wine excellent. Ask about Babić — the grape that defines this region — and you’ll likely end up in a long conversation about weather, soil, and tradition. Tastings are relaxed and authentic but the atmosphere makes it elevated.

MI Maja Winery

MI Maja sits higher up, looking out over the sea. Maja, the owner and wine maker, is one of those people who seems to know everyone and everything about Primošten’s vineyards. The experience feels personal, and the wine is excellent. Trust as when we say you’ll be talking about the view from the tasting room for years to come.

Walk Around the Old Town

Primošten’s old town is small enough to circle in under an hour, but it’s worth taking your time. The path follows the edge of the peninsula, where waves crash against the stone and cats nap in the shade. It’s a simple walk with endless sea views. Best done just before sunset.

Our Lady of Loreto Lookout

If you have a car, drive up to the hill above town to visit the Our Lady of Loreto statue. The view stretches across the coast all the way to Šibenik, dotted with islands and sailboats below. It’s one of the best vantage points in Dalmatia, especially when the sky turns gold in the evening.

Dine at Agape Restaurant

Tucked inside the old city walls, Agape is one of those rare restaurants that manages to feel both elevated and familiar. It’s 100% female-owned, known for homemade bread, refined Mediterranean flavours, and seasonal local ingredients. Agape is open year-round — a rarity along the coast — and every dish feels carefully thought out, from start to finish.

Planning your trip

Primošten is small enough to explore on foot, yet full of quiet corners to discover. Spend two days here and you’ll fall into its rhythm. Swim, eat, wander, repeat.

If you’re already dreaming of your next trip, start planning early. Primošten is featured on several of our sailing itineraries, and spots for 2026 yacht charters are now open. Combine a few days on land with a week at sea, and you’ll experience the best of both worlds: island-hopping by day, and sunsets like this by night.
